Step by step - Software Update
Create Shared folder, created \\SCCM_Software_Update\Source4.
Create collection on the CM and add the staging computer on it.
Create Deployment templates, Templates created All Approved Patches.
Step to create Deployment Templates
2. Right click Deployment Templates, Select New Deployment Template. Fill in the name for the template.
3. Select the Staging Collection.
4. On the Display/Time Settings select Client Local Time. Duration 1 Days.
5. On the Restart Settings select Workstation
Select Generate Operation Manager alert when a software update installation fails.
6. Select Download software update from distribution point and install.
7. The Deployment template already created.
Select update needed to deploy, selected KB961260 & KB958687.
Click Deploy Software Update.
Fill in the Name & Description. And then click Next.
Select All Approved Patches. And then click Next.
Select Create a new deployment package and Fill in the Name, Description, Package Source and priority.
On the distribution points, select the CM server. Then click Next.
Select the CM server \\JRCPWSCMSIT, then click next.
By default Download software update from the Internet selected. Click Next.
By default English selected in the Language selection. Click Next.
Select As soon as possible, Set deadline for software update installation and then select Ignore maintenance windows and install immediately at deadline. Click Next.
Create Update List
Fill in the Name and Description, and the click download the file associated with the selected software update.
Browse the deployment package.
By default Download software update from the Internet selected. Click Next.
By default English was selected. Click Next.
Click Next.
On the client computer
Initiate Action the item listed below:
· Software update scan cycle
· Software update deployment evaluation cycle
· Machine policy retrieval evaluation cycle
The software update installation progress will appear on the taskbar.
Software update done.
